Boyce McCall was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and attended school in Knox County. He left school at age 17 and entered the United States Army and served from 1949 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He was married in 1954 to JoElla Tipton and they had two sons Boyce Thomas Jr. and James David (deceased).
Boyce worked as a Knoxville City Policeman from 1963 to 1978 and was president of City Wide Elec. Repair Services from 1977 to 2010 and is currently retired.
Boyce is a active member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and has made a hobby of studying The American Legal Sciences, and Knoxvilles' Underworld History 1930- 2010;
